Contribution of Activities

Through the course of this program, I have been exposed to many elements within Educational Technology. Each capstone project from this program have helped shape my views and thoughts on how to utilize Educational Technology moving forward.

The Technology Infrastructure Survey helped me gather information from teachers and administration to best find ways to help teachers in our building. I spent a lot of time evaluating technology integration models, and was able to use the SAMR model in helping evaluate where the educators are in their current technology use. I am planning to utilize the Technology Intergration Matrix in the future when helping integrate technology, both in my classroom and possibly in others.

The Professional Development and Instructional Coaching Workshops were created based on this information and helped me create a template to produce and provide these types of workshops in the future. It also helped me evaluate different coaching models and helped direct me towards the FUEL model when it comes to instructional coaching.

The Learning Design Solution tied in what teachers wanted to know with ways to help them learn and grow as educators. When helping teachers learn new tools and integrate them into their classroom, I hope to use the ADDIE model because it is clear, concise and structured to provide support for teachers who are building effective learning solutions

Overall, these early capstone activities dictated where I ended up going with my project to help educators better understand Google Apps for Education. It was not what I planned to do, however, these projects helped me realize that I need to best help teachers based on what they are telling me, not just what my own ideas or experience are telling me.
